The government’s general election victory on 12 December 2019 means parliament is now unlikely to reject the revised European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill. Brexit should, therefore, finally go ahead on 31 January 2020.
During the 11-month transition period, EU law – including the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) – will continue to apply in the UK.
